Jane Roberts - 27 mile uphill ride

Updated: Apr 2, 2019

Jane Roberts has entered the Reg Harris Cyclosportive Event Organised by The Rotary Club of Tottington and Bury North in support of Short Bowel Survivor and Friends. This is a 27 mile uphill ride on 30th August 2015.

Jane is one of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital specialist Nurses, supporting families with children suffering from S.B.S. both on Ward 76 and 77 and home support for families on home Parenteral Nutrition.

Jane cycles to and from work most days and in all weathers, a round trip of about 20 miles. And she's still smiling!

Please support Jane in her effort to raise money for this worthy cause.

Short Bowel Survivor and Friends not only support families suffering from S.B.S. we also try to support research into better methods of treatments for this condition. Particularly babies born with 'Ultra-Short' bowel. The most recent research here in Manchester is attempts to find a way to stimulate the bowel to grow inside the body, thus avoiding the need for transplants. Results so far looks promising but more work is needed. When possible we will contribute towards this important work.
